Lettuce released an in-studio performance video for “Shine.” The track appears on the funk outfit’s 2022 album, Unify.
Lettuce released Unify on June 3. The band — drummer Adam Deitch, saxophonist Ryan Zoidis, guitarist Adam ‘Shmeeans’ Smirnoff, bassist Erick ‘Jesus’ Coomes, keyboardist Nigel Hall and trumpeter Eric ‘Benny’ Bloom — captured the performance video for “Shine” in the same studio they recorded Unify. Shmeeans detailed the tune in a press release:
“Lett’s go for a ride in the whip and turn it up! ‘Shine’ has both that bumpin’ and relaxing feel all at once. Golden era hip hop feels with a heavy nod to A Tribe Called Quest. Boom bap, a baseline line to make you move, Rhodes, Melodic Horns and Wes guitar octaves keep this one feeling like the warm sun on your face.”
