Lettuce dug into their archives to share a single inspired by Parliament-Funkadelic, “Star Children.” The track is available to stream and as a 7-inch vinyl.
“Star Children” was originally released on the Japanese CD version of Lettuce’s 2008 album Rage, but never officially available on streaming or vinyl until now. The new Parliament Funkadelic-inspired cut continues the band’s recent homage to funk legends following the James Brown-inspired “Monorail 3000.”

“Star Children” specifically honors late Parliament Funkadelic keyboardist Bernie Worrell and features former Lettuce keyboardist Neal Evans (Soulive) on an analog modular synthesizer.
“[‘Star Children’] is one of the few recordings that featured Neal Evans on an Analog Modular Synthesizer that was part of Joel Hamilton’s Studio G,” Lettuce guitarist and the song’s composer Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff shared. “The band’s love for Bootsy [Collins], George Clinton, P-Funk, Garry Shider, and Bernie are not only evident through the music, but through the namesake of this Lettuce Classic Vault Release… Star Children.”
“Star Children references Star Child, the legendary singer of Parliament Funkadelic,” Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch added. “We are all children of the stars.”
