lespecial Shares New Single ‘The Vessel’: Exclusive Video Premiere
lespecial shared a video for their song, “The Vessel.” The track is the lead single off the trio’s upcoming third full-length studio album, set for release this fall. Watch the video exclusively below.
lespecial consists of bassist Luke Bemand, multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Jonny Grusauskas and drummer Rory Dolan. The groove-oriented East Coast-based band heads to Colorado next week for a run of shows and will be performing throughout the spring and summer, including several festival appearances.
“We’ve been playing ‘The Vessel’ live for a while now, and our fans have been patiently waiting for it to be released,” Bemand said. “As the music and concepts for our third album began to take form, this felt like the right first single. We want our listeners to feel like they can dance and headbang in the same song. Now they can do that at home or in their vehicle, or en route to an uncharted dimension.”
The video for “The Vessel” was filmed by director Alex Harney and recorded by Jules Jenssen. Footage was captured at Shabby Road in Housatonic, Massachusetts and at the Music Cellar in Millerton, New York.
“This track started as a syncopated bass groove on a synth patch that we made with Space Jesus when he was at our studio, and we put words to it later,” Grusauskas said. “It’s about traveling, be it through the inconceivable vastness of the cosmos or the unseen realms beyond the physical.”
