The Lemonheads returned to late night television for the first time in nearly three decades. Evan Dando & Co. performed the beloved “My Drug Buddy” with an assist from host Jimmy Fallon and the Roky Erickson tribute “Roky” on the latest episode of The Tonight Show.

“Roky” appears on the band’s first album of all-new original material, Love Chant, which was released last fall. The song honors psychedelic rock pioneer Roky Erickson, a founding member and frontman of the 13th Floor Elevators. Erickson died at age 71 in 2019.

The Lemonheads originally issued “My Drug Buddy” on their iconic 1992 album It’s A Shame About Ray. Fallon hopped up towards the end of the performance to contribute wobbly harmony vocals.
