Stream Leftover Salmon Banjo Player Andy Thorn’s ‘High Country Holiday’ Album

Leftover Salmon banjo player Andy Thorn shared an instrumental holiday album today, High Country Holiday. The record sees guest spots from former YMSB fiddler Allie Kral, Black Crowes collaborator Erik Deutsch, Thorn’s LoS bandmate Dr. Greg Garrison and more.

Jay Elliott engineered/mixed High Country Holiday at IntroVertigo Studios while Anna Frick mastered the record at Ally Sound. The LP contains 11 tracks, 10 classic Christmas carols — “Joy To The World,” “Deck The Halls” and more — plus one original, “The Bells of Boulder.”

Allie Kral, Andy Reiner and Bobby Britt (Town Mountain) added fiddle to the record while Dr. Joy Adams (Big Richard) contributed cello to two songs. Black Crowes’ Erik Deutsch played piano on four tracks while Greg Garrison played bass throughout.
