LCD Soundsystem Confirms London Residency

LCD Soundsystem will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their first live performances with a four-concert residency at London’s 02 Academy Brixton. The shows, which follow Philadelphia and Boston residencies this spring, will take place on June 29 and July 1 – 3.

LCD Soundsystem’s “Platinum Anniversary” residency in London will be the band’s only headlining concerts of 2022 in Europe. James Murphy and his bandmates last played London in 2018 during a tour in support of their American Dream studio album. The group’s live debuts came in 2002 at Arthur Baker’s ‘Return To New York’ and Erol Alkan‘s ‘Trash’ parties as per NME.com.

On February 26, LCD Soundsystem served as the musical guests on Saturday Night Live. The ensemble’s upcoming residencies in Philadelphia and Boston mark their initial concerts following a run at New York City’s Brooklyn Steel last December that ended early when the last three shows were canceled due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.
