LCD Soundsystem was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. The band delivered a pair of songs from their Grammy-nominated 2005 self-titled debut album.
In a show of solidarity, SNL’s cold open saw the long-running live late night institution welcoming the Ukrainian Chorus Dumka of New York to perform “Prayer for Ukraine.” LCD Soundsystem continued the music with frontman James Murphy leading the group, and hopping on percussion, for the LCD Soundsytem cut “Thrills.” Fresh off the previous skit, host John Mulaney ushered in the Brooklyn-based band’s second performance, LCD Soundsystem closer, “Yr City’s a Sucker.” The band also made an appearance as Guardian Angels in the “Subway Churro” skit.
