After pulling off big surprises during her recent sets at Coachella, Lana Del Rey was back at Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California this weekend to pull off another surprise collaboration, this time at Stagecoach. Del Rey made an unannounced appearance with Paul Cauthen, joining him for the final song of his set.

Cauthen brought Del Rey out to help sing a cover of “Unchained Melody,” which was popularized by The Righteous Brothers. In 2020, Cauthen released a recording of the song he made with Orville Peck under The Unrighteous Brothers moniker. “Unchained Melody” was also a signature song of Elvis Presley’s and Del Rey performed it for NBC’s Christmas At Graceland television special that aired last year.

After Del Rey joined him on the Stagecoach stage, Cauthen called her the “queen of these grounds.” Del Rey mentioned being asked by Cauthen to “sing a slow” one and that she was excited to perform “Unchained Melody,” since she had done it before at Graceland.

“How lucky are we to be with him?,” Del Rey asked the audience. “As good as he is a singer, he is the most fun at the party and I’m so grateful.”
