Kurt Vile released the new single “Mount Airy Hill (Way Gone)” along with a video directed by Drew Saracco. The track is featured on Vile’s forthcoming (watch my moves) studio album due out on April 26 via Verve Records.
The singer-songwriter recorded the majority of his 15-track follow-up to 2018’s Bottle It In at OKV Central, a home studio he built in Philadelphia’s Mount Airy neighborhood. Kurt produced (watch my moves) himself with assistance from frequent collaborator Rob Schnapf. Vile previously previewed his Verve debut and ninth solo studio album with singles “Like Exploding Stones” and “Hey Like A Child.”
Kurt tapped his longtime band The Violators to back him on “Mount Airy Hill (Way Gone)” and other (watch my moves) tracks. Vile plays keyboards, slide guitar and sings on the new single, which features Violators Rob Laasko on bass, Jesse Trbovich on guitar and drummer Kyle Spence on drums. Other contributors to the album include James Stewart, Chastity Belt, Cate Le Bon, Stella Mozgawa and Sarah Jones. Kurt Vile & The Violators begin an extensive tour in support of (watch my moves) in Norfolk, Virginia on April 26.
