Kitchen Dwellers confirmed mandolinist Shawn Swain will soon return to the fold following a lengthy break from the road. Swain was sidelined for the bulk of 2024 while recuperating from health issues related to a pulmonary embolism.
The mandolin wiz will take the stage with his bandmates starting with their first shows of 2025, which will take place in Kitchen Dwellers’ home state of Montana. Bozeman’s The ELM will host the band on January 16 and 17 before they perform in Missoula on January 18 and 19.

“Ladies & Gentlemen, we are thrilled to announce that our very own Shawn Swain will be rejoining the touring party, starting with our upcoming Montana run this month,” wrote Kitchen Dwellers on social media. “After facing and overcoming various health challenges over the past year, Shawn has taken the necessary time to recover and is now feeling healthy and ready to return to the stage.”
Silas Herman filled in for Swain at most dates Shawn missed. Kitchen Dwellers will follow the Montana dates with additional January shows in Victor, Idaho; Teton Village, Wyoming and Salt Lake City.
