King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard closed out a European run on Tuesday at the Tempodrom in Berlin. The Australian band unveiled “Ambergris” off their recently released album Omnium Gatherum towards the middle of the concert.
King Gizzard got things underway with a pair of tracks, “Self-Immolate” and “Perihelion,” from their 2019 LP Infest The Rats Nest. The prolific group then offered a song from the final of five albums released in 2017 with Gumboot Soup’s “The Great Chain Of Being.”

The six-piece then turned to materials from their latest record, Omnium Gatherum, beginning with the thrashy “Gaia” followed by the psychedelic “Magenta Mountain.” The band then debuted Omnium Gatherum’s fourth track “Ambergris.” Guitarist Joey Walker led King Gizz through the smooth slow-burner and added some sultry soloing to boot.
King Gizzard filled the rest of their set with older favorites like “Robot Stop,” which contained a “Hot Water” jam and “Gamma Knife” as well as newer material like K.G’s (2020) “Honey” which boasted a “Rattlesnake” jam. The band also took it back to their 2012 debut 12 Bar Bruise with “Cut Throat Boogie” which contained elements of “Boogieman Sam” off their 2019 LP Fishing For Fishies. King Gizzard capped things off with another oldie, the title track to their 2013 record Float Along – Fill Your Lungs.
