King Crimson will hit the road with The Zappa Band for a tour of North America this June and July. The lineup for The Zappa Band features guitarists Mike Keneally and Ray White as well as fellow FZ alums bassist Scott Thunes and multi-instrumentalist Robert Martin plus Zappa Plays Zappa drummer Joe “Vaultmeister” Travers and guitarist Jamie Kime. King Crimson will showcase a seven-piece lineup of frontman Robert Fripp along with Mel Collins, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison, Jakko Jakszyk and Jeremy Stacey.
The tour starts at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida on June 4 and at The Amp in St. Augustine, Florida on June 5. From there, the two acts hit Boca Raton, Florida; Orlando; New Orleans; Memphis; Cary, North Carolina; Portsmouth, Virginia; Philadelphia; Glens Falls, New York; Boston; New York City; New Haven, Connecticut; Huber Heights, Ohio; Louisville; Rochester Hills, Michigan and Baltimore. A previously announced show at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia is slated for June 30 and then the two acts play Buffalo’s Artpark on July 1 and Chicago’s Ravinia on July 5 before King Crimson heads to Canada for appearances in Montreal on July 7, Quebec City on July 9, at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 11 and in Orillia on July 12. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 13.
