Kim Gordon Reps New York Knicks For ‘PLAY ME’ Performance On ‘Fallon’
The Sonic Youth co-founding bassist wore a Jalen Brunson jersey 32 years after sporting a John Starks jersey on Letterman.

Kim Gordon swung by 30 Rock on Wednesday to serve as the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Gordon performed “PLAY ME,” the title track from her new solo album, while showing love for the NBA champion New York Knicks.
On the eve of the Knicks’ victory parade, the New York City-bred Gordon sported a Jalen Brunson jersey on Fallon Kim’s outfit was a throwback to her 1994 appearance with Sonic Youth on Letterman, when she wore a John Starks jersey during the Knicks’ 1994 finals run.
PLAY ME arrived on March 13, 2026 via Matador Records. Gordon reunited with producer Justin Raisen on the 12-track release, as he was also behind the board for the Sonic Youth co-founding bassist’s last LP, 2024’s The Collective.
Kim Gordon’s “PLAY ME” performance marked her Tonight Show debut. Gordon is currently on the road for a tour in support of her new album. The run continues through September, including a newly-added second show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on September 16.
