Khruangbin premiered “So We Won’t Forget,” the latest single from their forthcoming Mordechai studio album along with a video for the track. Mordechai is set for release on June 26 via Dead Oceans.
“Memory is a powerful thing,” said Khruangbin in a statement announcing their new single. “Now more than ever it’s important to tell the people you love that you love them, so that they don’t forget.” The band — a trio consisting of bassist Laura Lee Ochoa, guitarist Mark Speer and drummer Donald “DJ” Johnson — tapped Scott Dungate to direct the “So We Won’t Forget” video. Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo x Nakama co-produced the clip.

The trio assembled at their farmhouse studio in Burton, Texas last summer to begin work on the follow-up to 2018’s Con Todo El Mundo. “So We Won’t Forget” is the penultimate song on the 10-track LP and features vocals, in keeping with a note from the band when the album was announced declaring Mordechai would contain more vocals than both Con Todo El Mundo and their debut studio album, The Universe Smiles Upon You. Additionally, Khruangbin relaunched AirKhruang, a tool that generates playlists based on activities and duration entered by users.
