Kacey Musgraves had some choice words for Ted Cruz as well as the Supreme Court on Sunday, as Stereogum reported. The Texas native used her platform at the Austin City Limits Music Festival to call out the Republican Senator from Texas and SCOTUS.
Musgraves commented on Cruz during a performance of “High Horse” from her 2018 album, Golden Hour. The singer-songwriter referenced the Senator, prefaced by the lines: “Cause everyone knows someone who kills the buzz/ Every time they open up their mouth,” before pausing to add, “Ted Cruz… I said what I said.” Watch the Cruz call out below via Cat Cardenas:

The Supreme Court wasn’t safe either. “Fuck the Supreme Court honestly,” Musgraves said. “We’re In a weird time but we still have each other…there is a light y’all, I promise.” Musgraves then headed into her song “there is a light’ from her 2021 album, star-crossed.
Additionally, Kacey’s set saw the singer-songwriter debuting the star-crossed cut, “keep lookin’ up,” as per SetlistFM. Musgraves would perform nine of the LP’s 15 songs during her festival slot including “justified,” the title track and more.
