Kacey Musgraves Covers Selena In Houston

Kacey Musgraves honored the late singer Selena by covering “Como La Flor” Monday night at NRG Stadium in Houston. The concert was part of this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Musgraves, a native of Golden, Texas, performed several songs from her Grammy Award-winning Album Of The Year Golden Hour. She also worked in covers of fellow Texan Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart” and Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon.”

“I love the queen Selena just as much as you do!,” Musgraves told the crowd before launching into the Tejano favorite “Como La Flor.” The song was popularized by Selena, whose final concert was performed in Houston on February 26, 1995, weeks before her tragic murder at the age of 23.
