Julian Lage Shares ‘Etude’ Single & Live Performance

Jazz guitarist Julian Lage shared a new single, “Etude,” along with a performance video. The instrumental will kick off Lage’s upcoming album, Squint, set to arrive via Blue Note Records on June 11.
Lage previewed Squint, his Blue Note debut, with the singles “Saint Rose” and “Boo's Blues.” While Julian recorded the new album with his band consisting of bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Dave King, “Etude” sees the guitarist performing solo. An étude is a type of composition defined as “a short musical composition, typically for one instrument, designed as an exercise to improve the technique or demonstrate the skill of the player.”
