Jónsi shared the single, “Salt Licorice,” featuring Robyn. The song will land on the Sigur Rós singer and guitarist’s upcoming solo album, Shiver, which arrives on Friday, October 2 via Krunk.

“Salt Licorice” features production by A.G. Cook as does the whole album. The track is “an aggressive take on ballroom house with a thumping, propulsive beat and loud, piercing chimes, pulled together in a tumult of sounds,” as per a statement. “Jónsi and Robyn commiserate in the coldness of aging, nostalgia, and depression, sorrows that are made easier when shared with a kindred soul.”

“‘Salt Licorice’ is such a cute and perfect pop song,” Robyn said. “It makes me want to dance violently and make out at the same time. It was a no-brainer to say yes to singing it with Jónsi. The pretty emails I get with a thousand emojis in them from him is a bonus that came with our collaboration as well!”

“Salt Licorice” arrived with a music video co-directed by Jónsi and Rene van Pannevis. Watch it below:
