Jon Bon Jovi cut Bon Jovi's concert at Madison Square Garden short on Thursday after revealing he was battling a sinus infection. The frontman ended the penultimate night of the band’s nine-show run at the legendary venue after roughly 90 minutes and assured fans he would make up the shortened performance.

“Don’t throw away your ticket stubs I’m going to figure something out okay,” the singer told the crowd. “Just hang onto it, we’re going to figure out how to reschedule, but I’m going to have to cool it for the night.”

“Jon Bon Jovi spoke from stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection which led to the show’s early ending,” a rep for Bon Jovi told People. “As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly.”

Bon Jovi’s MSG residency and Forever Tour marks Jon Bon Jovi’s return to the stage four years after return to the stage, four years after having vocal cord surgery. The frontman made it through the first seven shows of the run and tour without incident.

The Thursday night concert began as all of Bon Jovi’s other MSG shows did with a cover of The Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends.” The New Jersey-bred rockers made it through 13 more songs before the abrupt ending.

Jon Bon Jovi struggled through the 90-minute performance, and was visibly shook ahead of the “Livin’ With A Prayer” that closed out the abbreviated concert. “I know I’m letting you down, but it’s not like me to do that,” he told the audience. The vocalist said he was the most “grateful man in the world” for the fans’ support.

“I’m going to do one more song, I’m going to need your help,” Bon Jovi added. “We might have to cool it because I’m fucking hurting, unless Pat Monahan wants to come out here and help me out.” The Train frontman answered the call and assisted Jon Bon Jovi in singing the band’s 1986 hit “Livin’ On A Prayer.”

Bon Jovi are currently scheduled to end their Madison Square Garden residency on Sunday night, July 26. A series of dates across the U.K. and Ireland begins on Friday, August 28 in Edinburgh.
