Jon Batiste performed “The Star Spangled Banner” before last night’s Super Bowl LIX kickoff. The game was played at Caesars Superdome in Batiste’s hometown of New Orleans.

Introduced by the public address announcer as “The Maestro,” Batiste performed on a colorful grand piano placed on the 50-yard line. Flanked by the Joint Armed Forces Color Guard, Batiste delivered an impassioned performance of “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Staying true to the anthem’s form, Batiste slightly altered his arrangement by emphasizing the ending lyric, “O’er the land of the free,” by repeating it three times before getting to the, “and home of the brave,” finale.
