As previously noted, Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine is an accomplished harmonica player, having shared the stage with a few notiable musicians, including Dave Matthews Band fiddle player Boyd Tinsley a few years back. Another veteran of the jam scene has reached out to the musical Senator from Virginia, as Blues Traveler frontman John Popper extended an offer to Hillary Clinton’s running mate to duel on harmonica.
In a pair of tweets from the official Blues Traveler Twitter account, Popper left the door open for a possible collaboration with the man who could be the next Veep. Check out the messages from Blues Traveler to Kaine:
Earlier in the campaign season Popper teamed up with Greensky Bluegrass at a rally for Democratic candidate for President Senator Bernie Sanders. The event held in March at Safeco Field in Seattle saw Popper sit-in with GSBG on his hits “Run Around” and “Hook” before offering a solo performance of “The Star Spangled Banner.”
