Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Announce New Orleans Performances

Just one day after celebrating the third anniversary of their first show, Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead have announced a pair of performances set to coincide with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will play the Joy Theater in New Orleans April 29 and 30. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 29 at noon ET. Regular JRAD keyboardist Marco Benevento will not be joining the band for these shows, so the group has recruited Russo’s Furthur band mate and current Dead & Company keyboardist Jeff Chimenti for the NOLA performances. “Jeff is one of the most incredible musicians I’ve ever had the chance to play with and I cannot wait to mix it up with him again!” Russo said about Chimenti.

The band’s post announcing the shows mentions, Marco “has a super incredible opportunity that weekend” that is expected to be revealed soon.
