Jim Lauderdale Gets Reflective With New Single ‘I’m A Lucky Loser’

Singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale reflects inward with his newly released single, “I’m A Lucky Loser.” The track comes from Lauderdale’s forthcoming studio album, My Favorite Place.

Lauderdale’s 37th album, My Favorite Place, is set to arrive on June 21 through Sky Crunch Records. The 11-song album was produced by Lauderdale and Jay Weaver, bassist in Lauderdale’s backing band The Game Changers, and recorded at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio.


“I’m A Lucky Loser” features Weaver, The Game Changers’ guitarist Frank Rische and vocalist Lillie Mae Rische. The track also showcases the work of Chris Scruggs and Kenny Vaughn on electric guitars, Wes L’angolis on acoustic guitar, Will Van Horn on pedal steel guitar, Micah Hulscher on piano and Pat Bubert on drums.
