Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy will return to MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts for a benefit concert on Saturday, July 17. Tweedy will be joined by special guest Nels Cline, his Wilco band mate, at the show.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit MASS MoCA’s Joe Thompson “Yes” Fund, named in honor of the museum’s founding director who leaves the role after 33 years. The fund “will directly support the museum’s mission to champion artists and art-making in all forms.”

Jeff Tweedy is no stranger to MASS MoCA, as the venue is the home of Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival. The event was first held in 2011 and is expected to return in 2022. Tweedy shared the following about Joe Thompson:
Apart from being an inspiring, incredible human, Joe’s involvement over the years has had a massive influence on the dreamy wonderland we’ve all come to know as Solid Sound Festival. It’s hard to picture it happening without him. But it’s pleasantly easy to picture the festivities to come thanks to Joe’s generous and enduring contributions. We’ll miss him. He leaves big shoes to fill, no doubt. Thankfully his footsteps have made a loving and well-worn path. I’m confident they’ll be easy to follow. Thank you, Joe!
