Jeff Lynne's ELO's farewell tour hit a speed bump on Thursday. Frontman Jeff Lynne has taken ill and needed to cancel last night’s show in Manchester, England.

“Unfortunately due to illness tonight’s (Thursday 10th July 2025) scheduled performance of Jeff Lynne’s ELO at the Co-Op Live will not be going ahead,” started a note on the band’s X page posted just before show time.

“Jeff is devastated he cannot perform this evening,” the statement continued. “More information will become available as soon as possible. For refunds please go to your point of purchase.”

Jeff Lynne’s ELO’s Thursday concert in Manchester was his second of two nights at Co-Op Live and the penultimate show of the legendary band’s final tour. Wednesday’s performance went on as planned, though Lynne appeared sick and performed seated for a portion of the gig.

The tour started on July 5 with the first of two shows in Lynne’s hometown of Birmingham, England. Lynne broke his hand while traveling in a taxi before the tour. As such, he has been unable to play guitar on stage.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO are slated to perform their last show at London’s Hyde Park this Sunday, July 13. The status of the final gig was not mentioned in the statement canceling Thursday’s concert.
