Stream New Jason Molina Single ‘The Mission’s End’

The previously unheard Jason Molina song, “The Mission’s End,” was released by Secretly Canadian. The track appears on the upcoming posthumous Molina album, Eight Gates.

Secretly Canadian will issue Eight Gates on August 7. Molina, who was the primary member of Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co., died on March 16, 2013, at the age of 39 following complications from alcoholism.

The nine tracks on Eight Gates were recorded by Molina in or around 2008 during a stint living in London. Among Molina’s final releases before his death were the 2009 Magnolia Electric Co. album Josephine and collaborative LP with Will Johnson, Molina & Johnson. A collection of old recordings, Autumn Bird Songs, came out under Molia’s own name in 2012.
