On Friday, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will issue The Nashville Sound, their new studio album coming out on Southeastern Records/Thirty Tigers. NPR Music’s First Listen series has premiered the entire album in advance of its June 16 official release.
Isbell again teamed with acclaimed producer Dave Cobb, who also helmed the singer-songwriter’s previous solo albums Southeastern and Something More Than Free, to record the 10 original songs making up the new record. The album was recorded at Nashville’s famed Studio A with arrangements collectively crafted by Isbell and his The 400 Unit band mates, keyboardist Derry deBorja, guitarist Sadler Vaden, bassist Jimbo Hart, drummer Chad Gamble and Isbell’s wife, fiddler/vocalist Amanda Shires.
The album includes the previously issued singles “Hope The High Road,” “Cumberland Gap,” “If We Were Vampires” and “White Man’s World.” Courtesy of NPR Music, stream The Nashville Sound via the link below:
