Jason Isbell Joins Widespread Panic At Walnut Creek
By Andy Kahn May 1, 2016 • 7:26 am PDT

Last night Georgia rockers Widespread Panic brought their Spring Tour to Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina. The show was featured an opening set by Jason Isbell and his band The 400 Unit, and the guitarist was welcomed back to the stage to help out during WSP’s second set.
Panic offered a first set highlighted by such setlist staples as the opening “Travelin’ Light,” “All Time Low” “Dyin’ Man,” “Bear’s Gone Fishin’” and the closing “Red Hot Mama.” They opened the second set with “Sell Sell” which was followed by “Cease Fire.” After segueing into “Ride Me High,” Isbell emerged to add guitar to the often played J.J. Cale cover. Isbell then exited, leaving Panic to fill out the rest of the show with more favorites like “Genesis,” “1×1,” “Porch Song,” “Blue Indian” and the second set closer “Climb To Safety.”
The encore featured the pairing of their “Walkin’ (For Your Love)” with the show ending cover of Talking Heads’ “Heaven.” Widespread Panic performs again tonight, Sunday, May 1 at The Rose Music Center at The Heights in Huber Heights, Ohio and as always you can stream live audio via LiveWidespreadPanic.com.
