Jam Cruise 16 will depart Miami aboard the Norwegian Jade on January 17, 2018. The vessel will make stops in Roatan, Honduras and Grand Cayman before returning to Miami on January 22. Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, Galactic, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Maceo Parker, Lotus and Lettuce are just a few of the acts set to perform on Jam Cruise 16. Today, organizers revealed news about the theme nights, Jazz Lounge hosts and piano sets for JC16.
Theme nights will be “Once Upon A Tide” in which cruisers are encouraged to bring their imagination to life as well as “Yellow Night” and “Space Is The Place.” Piano sets have become a hallmark of Jam Cruise and January’s trip will feature sets from Ivan Neville, John Medeski, Holly Bowling, Sidney Mills & Selwyn Brown plus one from Dead & Company’s Jeff Chimenti including accompaniment from Steve Kimock.
A more recent Jam Cruise development is the Jazz Lounge, where Jam Cruisers can watch improvisational jazz performances by all-star artists. Mike Dillon, Skerik, Eddie Roberts, DJ Logic and Shira Elias have been tapped as the hosts.
Jam Cruise 16 is sold out.
