Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey will make their first album in ten years this fall. The band’s OG Trio lineup featuring bassist Reed Mathis, keyboardist Brian Haas and drummer Jason Smart is headed to Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro in New Orleans on October 25 and 26 to record the forthcoming LP live in concert.

The last JFJO album, Worker, was released in October of 2014. Haas was joined in the band by guitarist Chris Combs and drummer Josh Raymer at the time. Brian Haas and Reed Mathis are co-founding members of Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. Mathis parted ways with the group at the end of 2008 but returned in recent years for sporadic shows with Smart and Haas. Jason Smart’s initial run in the band spanned 2001 through 2007.
