Singer-songwriter Jackie Greene has confirmed the upcoming release of a new EP entitled The Modern Lives – Vol 1. The six-song set will be issued by Blue Rose Music/The End Records on October 13.
Greene self-produced and recorded The Modern Lives – Vol 1 in his basement studio in Brooklyn. It serves as the multi-instrumentalist’s first release under a partnership with Blue Rose Music multimedia company and record label.
“It’s essentially a venture that’s going to allow me to release music in the way I’ve always wanted to,” Greene said regarding Blue Rose. “I’ve realized over the years that the homebrew aspect of what I do is very important to my aesthetic, and part of that is being able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. [Founder] Joe [Poletto] and his team at Blue Rose get that. I have complete and total freedom artistically and musically now, which means I don’t have to play by the old rules anymore. That’s really exciting to me.”
In 2015 Greene released his last full-length studio album Back To Birth.
