Reggae rockers Iration will release a new album entitled Daytrippin on October 6. The Hawaiian-bred/California-based band previewed their eighth studio LP by sharing its title track.

“The new album, Daytrippin is a return to our roots,” Iration lead singer Micah Pueschel stated. “We set out to strike a balance between polished studio production and the energy of a live show. We leaned on our reggae and rock influences to find a natural evolution from earlier albums like Time Bomb and Hotting Up.”

The 10-song Daytrippin was co-written and produced by renowned songwriter/producer Suzy Shinn. Additional writing and production was provided by longtime collaborator David Manzoor and the band. Guests appearing on the upcoming album include Maxi Priest and Claire Wright.

Iration previously shared the album track “IRL.” The group will tour in support of the record on their upcoming IRL Fall Tour with support from Artikal Sound System and Cydeways. Spanning October 13 to November 18, the tour will land in 14 different states across the U.S.

Regarding “Daytrippin,” which describes a daytrip across the Mexico border to Baja California, Pueschel explained:

“This song is an ode to the magic and charm of Mexico. Every time we visit, we find that there is a certain intoxicating quality that comes with the raw natural beauty, culture and the people. We tried to capture that feeling in the song.”
