For the past 12 years the Tipitina’s Foundation has been donating instruments to New Orleans schools through its Instruments A Comin’ program. To date, more than $2.7 million in instruments have been donated through Instruments A Comin’. On April 28 Tipitina’s will host a benefit concert to raise funds for Instruments A Comin’ at the Crescent City club featuring the stellar lineup of
Galactic,
Anders Osborne,
Dumpstaphunk,
Nathan & the Zydeco Cha-Chas,
The New Orleans Suspects,
Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington,
Susan Cowsill,
Honey Island Swamp Band,
Naughty Professor,
Bonerama and
Flow Tribe.
Before the concert Tip’s will host a family-friendly street party that starts at 6 p.m. and is open to the public free-of-charge. Outdoor events include a silent auction to benefit Instruments A Comin’, a Battle of the Marching Bands, a Wall of Fame induction ceremony honoring Phish and a Walk of Fame induction ceremony honoring Terence Blanchard.
