Hiss Golden Messenger Shares ‘Glory Strums (Loneliness Of The Long-Distance Runner)’ Single & Announces Winter/Spring Tour

Hiss Golden Messenger (M.C. Taylor) continues to preview the upcoming Quietly Blowing It album with the release of single “Glory Strums (Loneliness Of The Long-Distance Runner)” and an accompanying video. Taylor and company will hit the road this winter for an extensive tour in support of Quietly Blowing It, which arrives via Merge Records on June 25.

The excursion begins at The Englewood in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania on November 30. December dates follow in New York City, Cambridge (Massachusetts), Hamden (Connecticut), Providence, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Asheville, Columbia (South Carolina) and Charleston.

Hiss Golden Messenger returns to the road on February 3, 2022 at Radio Room in Greenville, South Carolina. From there, the band hits Atlanta, Birmingham, New Orleans, Houston, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Phoenix, Solana Beach (California), Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland (Oregon), Seattle and Vancouver later in February. The tour concludes with March stops in Boise, Salt Lake City, Fort Collins, Denver, Kansas City, Madison, Minneapolis, Chicago and Nashville.

The follow-up to 2019’s Terms Of Surrender features 11 tracks written, arranged and produced by M.C. Taylor. Guests include Dawes’ Griffin Goldsmith and Taylor Goldsmith, The Lone Bellow’s Zach Williams, acclaimed guitarist Buddy Miller and producer/multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman as well as Kaufman’s Bonny Light Horseman mate Anaïs Mitchell.

“‘Glory Strums’ was written in the chaotic green spring of 2020 as a hymn to finding the places and spaces that make us human,” Taylor explained regarding his new single. Watch the visual for the track directed by Vikesh Kapoor, which premiered via Consequence, below:
