Last year High Sierra Music Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary with record-breaking attendance at Plumas-Sierra Fairgrounds in Quincy, California. This year’s installment of the multi-day event is slated to be held June 30 – July 3, and while awaiting the announcement of this year’s lineup, this week’s Sunday Cinema takes a look back at the storied history of HSMF in the High Sierra Memories documentary presented below.

Produced by Bill DeBlonk the video includes footage from past festivals held in Leland Meadows, Bear Valley and Quincy, California. The roster of artists who appear in the over two-hour long video are almost too many to name but includes early lineups of STS9, Yonder Mountain String Band and Deep Banana Blackout, a The String Cheese Incident’s 1997 pool party set, Bela Fleck hosting a workshop, Leftover Salmon, Los Lobos, Railroad Earth, The Mother Hips, Gov’t Mule, Michael Franti, Nicki Bluhm and many many more.
