HBO Shares ‘David Bowie: The Last Five Years’ Trailer

Earlier this year HBO revealed it had acquired the rights to the documentary film David Bowie: The Last Five Years, which examines the final years in life of David Bowie. A teaser trailer for the film about the late legendary musician has been shared in advanced of its U.S. television premiere.

Produced and directed by Francis Whately, the new film is a companion follow-up to his 2013 documentary David Bowie: Five Years. Bowie’s final two albums, 2013’s The Next Day and 2016’s Blackstar, and his 2015 play Lazarus are the primary focus of The Last Five Years. Archival audio and video footage, interviews with Bowie, his longtime collaborator Tony Visconti and others are featured in the new film.

HBO will screen David Bowie: The Last Five Years on Monday, January 8 at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the trailer below:
