Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Reveals Initial 2026 Lineup: Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, My Morning Jacket & More

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass unveiled the initial 2026 lineup for the annual free music festival returning to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4. The eclectic bill is led by My Morning Jacket, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings and Old Crow Medicine Show.

As previously announced, Steve Earle will bring his blend of country and rock to the festival, as he has at all past installments of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Hiss Golden Messenger, AJ Lee & Blue Summit and Kathleen Edwards are also aboard as are El Khat and Tyler Ballgame.

Additionally, William Tyler revives his collaboration with fellow guitarist Yasmin Williams, while John Craigie will perform a set backed by The Coffis Brothers.

“Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has been on our radar for years because it is a gift to the people of the Bay Area…a chance for all to enjoy the ritual of live music free of charge. We’re honored to get the invite this year, and we can’t wait to feel the energy of such a special event,” said My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick Hallahan.

The first wave of the 2026 HSB lineup was teased with a medley posted on the festival’s app and website. Look for additional lineup announcements to follow over the coming weeks.
