Happy 70th Birthday Robert Plant: Performing Live Through The Decades

Legendary rock ‘n’ roll vocalist Robert Plant celebrates his 70th birthday today. Best-known as the frontman of rock pioneers Led Zeppelin, Plant possess one of the most iconic and recognizable voices that has carried many classic songs in the decades since the group’s founding in the late-1960s.

In honor of Plant’s 70th birthday today, below is a collection of videos featuring live performances from each decade starting with the ‘60s and continuing through the present. Plant can be seen with his Led Zeppelin band mates performing in 1969 in Paris and at Madison Square Garden in New York City in 1973 from The Song Remains the Same concert film. The reunited Zeppelin with Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham – son of late drummer John Bonham – is featured performing live at MSG in 1988 .

From the ‘90s, there’s footage of Page and Plant teaming up in Paris in 1988 to perform at The Paris Concert For Amnesty International and for the ‘00s there’s a clip of Plant and Alison Krauss performing on Later … With Jools Holland. Finally, from last October there’s the bust out of “In The Light” with support from The Sensational Space Shifters.
