Guns N’ Roses Kick Off Fall Tour 2019 In Charlotte

Guns N’ Roses got their fall tour proper underway at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte on Wednesday night. While the band previously played a warm-up show in Los Angeles on September 21, the Charlotte concert was the official kick-off for the North American leg of GNR’s Not In This Lifetime 2019 Tour.

GNR got things going with “It’s So Easy” followed by “Mr. Brownstone,” “Chinese Democracy,” “Welcome To The Jungle,” “Double Jive Talkin’” and “Better.” After “Estranged,” GNR offered up their cover of Paul McCartney’s “Live And Let Die” ahead of the Velvet Revolver song “Slither.” “Rocket Queen,” “You Could Be Mine” and “Shadow Of Your Love” came next before the band covered Misfits’ “Attitude” which included a “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory” (a Michael Monroe song made popular by Ronnie Spector) intro, according to Setlist.fm.

GNR continued with “Civil War” and “Coma” before Slash delivered a guitar solo which contained elements of Funkadelic’s “Maggot Brain.” After the classic “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” GNR returned to cover material with Jimmy Webb’s “Wichita Lineman” and Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” “November Rain” followed ahead of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” Guns N’ Roses would close out the set with “Nighttrain.”

The band reemerged for a four-song encore of “Don’t Cry,” The Who’s “The Seeker,” “Madagascar” and “Paradise City” to close out the evening. Check out audience-shot footage of the concert below:
