Gregg Allman Out Again Tonight | Allmans Run To Continue
By Scott Bernstein Mar 22, 2014 • 8:30 am PDT

Last night the band called upon Kofi Burbridge (ARU, Tedeschi Trucks Band) and Rob Barraco (Dark Star Orchestra, Phil Lesh Quintet) to fill in for Gregg during a show that also saw appearances from Susan Tedeschi, Bill Evans, Devon Allman and Cyril Neville. No word yet on who will handle Gregg’s parts this evening.
Here’s the full text of the email from MSGE:
Dear The Allman Brothers Band Ticket Holder:
Please be advised that, due to illness, Gregg Allman will be unable to perform on Saturday, March 22. The Allman Brothers Band will perform as scheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to your continued patronage of The Beacon Theatre.
All remaining shows will go on as scheduled.
Sincerely,
Madison Square Garden Entertainment
There’s no mention of refunds being offered. Our thoughts are with Gregg in hopes he makes a full recovery. Tonight’s show is the 10th of 14 sold-out Allman Brothers Band performances that make up this year’s March Madness run.
