On Saturday night Greensky Bluegrass headlined the 2016 installment of Hoxeyville in their home state of Michigan. The jamgrass act welcomed two fellow Michigan-based musicians for a Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers cover as part of their Hoxeyville appearance.

Greensky Bluegrass opened with their new single, “Past My Prime” and treated fans to a first set that mixed covers and originals. Among the covers was a version of Parton & Rogers’ 1983 hit “Islands In The Stream.” Paul Hoffman dueted with Lindsay Lou of Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys on “Islands In The Stream,” which also featured contributions from percussionist Mike Shimmin. The second set included a number of inventive pairings such as “Leap Year” > “Foxy Lady” > “Leap Year” and “Don’t Lie” > “Eyes Of The World” > “Don’t Lie.” Greensky finally concluded “Leap Year” as part of their Hoxeyville encore.
