Greensky Bluegrass performed at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, Ohio on Friday night with Neighbor opening the evening’s festivities. GSBG summoned the skills of Neighbor guitarist Lyle Brewer, who joined the band at the end of the first set and again for the encore, which consisted of Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”

Brewer’s first appearance with Greensky came at the end of the headliners’ first set. The guest guitarist augmented a cover of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Ain’t Wasting Time No More” and stuck around for the set-closing take on GSBG’s original “Give A Shit.”

Following a second set, Greensky Bluegrass came back for an encore featuring a bust out of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” which the band had only played two times prior, both in 2011. Mid-song, Brewer began to play the song’s signature solo from the side stage, only emerging once he was fully into the soaring solo. According to GSBG PT stats, 1,145 shows were held between Greensky Bluegrass performances of the Paul Hoffman-sung “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”
