Greensky Bluegrass headlined the third annual Greenbelt Music Festival on Saturday evening in Clive, Iowa. Fiddler Bronwyn Keith-Hynes joined the jamgrass quintet for a pair of songs during their 90-minute performance.
Bronwyn Keith-Hynes was on hand at Greenbelt for a Saturday set of her own. Keith-Hynes is focusing on her solo career after four years of touring and recording as a member of Golden Highway. Molly Tuttle recently disbanded the group and will tour with a new ensemble this summer.

Greensky Bluegrass launched their lone set with staple “Past My Prime.” The band then pulled “New & Improved” from their latest full-length studio album, 2022’s Stress Dreams, ahead of a cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “White Freight Liner Blues” and the ballad “While Waiting.” An adventurous “Don’t Lie” followed and was stretched out for over 15 minutes.
“One of our dear friends is here playing music today, and she’s going to come play with us because we’re so lucky,” dobroist Anders Beck exclaimed as he introduced Bronwyn Keith-Hynes.
“It’s like a festival up in here! What I mean by that is we steal our friends, we can play music with lots of people and have a big old party in a field around sunset time. Life is good this time of year when festival season rolls around,” Beck added.
Keith-Hynes added fiery fiddle to “Demons” and pulled off the synchronized dance accompanying the song. Greensky and their guest played the intro twice because “the fiddle sounds so good” as Paul Hoffman explained. Bronwyn took a fierce solo towards the middle of “Demons” and stuck around for the subsequent “Give A Shit.”

Greensky continued on with “Born Again,” which like the “Solstice” that closed the main set, was recorded by GSBG and Holly Bowling for the 2024 EP The Iceland Sessions. After “Born Again,” the five-piece rolled through the Bill Monroe-penned instrumental “Wheel Hoss.” Guitarist Dave Bruzza then led his bandmates on fan-favorite “Take Cover.” Hoffman fronted the beloved “Windshield” for the encore.
