Grateful Shred Performs ‘Viola Lee Blues’ In Pioneertown: Pro-Shot Video
Grateful Dead tribute act Grateful Shred recently performed at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California. Pro-shot video featuring the band’s take on “Viola Lee Blues” from the September show has been shared.
“Viola Lee Blues” was written by Noah Lewis and originally released in 1928 by Gus Cannon’s Jug Band. The Grateful Dead added their own spin to the tune and issued a studio version on their self-titled debut studio album in 1967. Grateful Shred features guitarists Austin McCutchen, Sam Blasucci, Clay Finch and bassist Dan Horne as well as a revolving cast of drummers and keyboardists.
