The Grateful Dead Performs ‘Truckin’’ In 1993: Pro-Shot Video

The Grateful Dead released pro-shot video of “Truckin’” for the latest installment in their All The Years Live series. The clip comes from GD’s June 13, 1993 concert at Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, New York near Buffalo.

Buffalo is famously referenced in “Truckin’” with the lyric “Truckin’ up to Buffalo.” But the Dead didn’t really play the song all that much in the western New York city.

Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux pointed out that fact in his notes accompanying the video. Read his words below:

“Although it’s not quite the thrill of hearing the fellows in Spinal Tap give a shout out to Cleveland, seeing the Grateful Dead play ‘Truckin” up in Buffalo was always very fun, and very rare, happening only four times (twice in 1973, and in 1990 and 1993). This is from the last Grateful Dead show I saw.”
