Recording Academy Postpones Grammy Awards 2022 Indefinitely

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards Show has been postponed indefinitely due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. The event at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles was scheduled to air live on CBS on January 31.

A joint statement provided by the Recording Academy and CBS indicated that a new date for the Grammy Awards 2022 would be announced soon. Brandi Carlile, Jon Batiste and Billy Strings were among those nominated for this year’s Grammys. Performers for the 64th annual Grammy Awards have not yet been confirmed.

After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual Grammy Awards Show. The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon.”

The Recording Academy had to reschedule the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards Show from January 2021 to March 2021 due to COVID-19 protocols. View the full list of Grammy Awards 2022 nominees here.
