Grace Potter performed for Ben & Jerry’s Concerts on the Green series at the Shelburne Museum near Burlington last weekend in her home state of Vermont. Potter wrapped the two-night stand by welcoming country star Kenny Chesney for their 2011 collaborative single, “You & Tequila.”
Originally written by Deana Carter and Matraca Berg, Kenny Chesney released “You and Tequila” featuring Grace Potter as a single on May 31, 2011. The song received two Grammy nominations at the 2012 awards. Kenny Chesney included “You and Tequila” on his 2012 album, Welcome To The Fishbowl.
Potter brought out Chesney for “You and Tequila” to close her three-song encore on Saturday, September 16. The two friends humorously reminisced about recording and filming the “You and Tequila” video before dueting on their 2011 collab. Watch below:
After being introduced by Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, Grace Potter began the show with a pair of songs, “Lady Vagabond” and “Ready Set Go,” from her 2023 album, Mother Road. Potter also performed the album’s “All My Ghosts” and “Good Time” before welcoming opener Devon Gilfillian for a cover of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind.” Watch a clip of the team up below:
Grace closed her main set with “Paris (Ooh la la)” followed by an encore of “Big White Gate” and “Stars” ahead of “You and Tequila” to cap the concert. Check out offical photos below:
