Watch Italian Harmonica Player Fabio Treves Join Gov’t Mule In Milan

Gov’t Mule’s European tour rolled into the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, Italy on Monday. Guitarist Warren Haynes and company welcomed renowned Italian harmonica player Fabio Treves for a Sonny Boy Williamson II blues tune and more.

Milan’s own Fabio Treves joined Gov’t Mule — the artists have collaborated a number of times over the years — during the second set with a song from legendary blues harmonica player and singer-songwriter Sonny Boy Williamson II. Treves added some fiery harp to “Good Morning, School Girl,” complimenting Warren’s vocal performance. Watch Fabio Treves join Gov’t Mule on “Good Morning, School Girl” below:

Gov’t Mule kicked off their first set with “Bad Little Doggie” off their 2000 album Life Before Insanity. The first set also included staples “Broke Down On The Brazos” and “Thorazine Shuffle” along with “Peace I Need” and “After The Storm” off the band’s June 2023 album Peace…Like A River. The first frame came to a close with two covers: Son House’s “Grinning In Your Face” and Howlin’ Wolf’s I “Asked for Water (She Gave Me Gasoline).”

Mule launched the second set with two cuts, “Unring the Bell” and “Endless Parade,” from their 2006 LP, High & Mighty ahead of the first Treves sit-in. The harmonica player would also make another appearance to kick off the encore with Muddy Waters’ “Long Distance Call.” Gov’t Mule would go it alone to wrap the concert with “Soulshine.”

Mule’s European Tour concludes tonight in Trieste, Italy.
