Goose Getting The Balls Back Out For Goosemas 2024

Goose revealed the theme for this year’s Goosemas concerts. The band will present “Bingo Live” at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina on December 13 and 14.

“Bingo Live” is a throwback at the quintet’s 2020 Bingo Tour when Goose inventively let bingo balls determine setlists for a string of livestream concerts originating from their native Connecticut early in the pandemic.

Goose was originally going to devote one night of the 2020 livestream series to the bingo theme but then decided to go all in on the theme. “[Our managers] found a bingo guy, because we wanted to make sure that the numbers were crunched properly and it was all feasible,” Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda told JamBase in 2020. “Just the fact that we had a bingo guy made this whole thing so much more fun,” Mitarotonda explained of a consultant brought in to oversee the concept.

“For this year’s shows, the band promises an enhanced experience where viewers can play along as the shows take place in front of a live audience,” as per a press release. “‘Bingo Live’ will feature unpredictable and electrifying setlists determined in real time, as a host pulls bingo balls labeled with songs from the band’s extensive catalog from a roller.”

“Bingo Tour gave us a way to get together during a crazy time,” remembered multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach. “We found new ways to be creative and connect with our fans despite being miles apart. Bringing ‘Bingo Live’ to Goosemas feels like the perfect way to celebrate that journey and finally perform some of the wild bingo antics live with an audience.”

Goosemas was first held in 2014 in the basement of a Norwalk recording studio. The event grew from its humble beginnings into the band’s hallmark event. Goosemas was initially expanded to two nights in December of 2022 in Colorado and took place at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia last year.
