Goose‘s fall tour rolled into Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago on Saturday. The jam quartet unveiled a cover of Future Islands‘ “Peach” toward the end of the first set.
Goose launched the concert with another choice cover, The Who‘s “Eminence Front.” While the band premiered the rocker in 2019 and played it throughout the year, The Who tune was recently revived in 2024, as per ElGoose.net. The first frame also saw the band extending versions of “Iguana Song” and “Feel It Now.”

Following “Feel It Now,” Goose offered their “Peach” debut. Future Islands released the song as a single in 2021. Guitarist Rick Mitarotonda led the cover premiere. The band stayed fairly close to the song’s original synth-pop format with Peter Anspach adding the appropriate keyboard touches. Goose did add a build up and drop followed by a tasty solo from Rick.
Goose wrapped the first set with “So Ready > (dawn).” The second set got underway with an expansive “Hungersite.” The band’s cover of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes’ “Don’t Leave Me This Way” came next. Goose unveiled the song from the Philly soul group late last year during their annual Goosemas concerts.
The band then went big on “Tumble,” with the song falling just shy of the 25 minute mark. Next, Goose jumped into “The Empress of Organos,” an old-school number dating back to proto-Goose group Vasudo. The song recently found a home on the band’s surprise-dropped album Chain Yer Dragon. Another cut off the record, “Jed Stone,” sealed the second set. Goose returned to finish up “Empress” for the encore.
